Craziest Wedding enterance Song
August 30, 2009 11:43 amWedding Limousine Rentals
November 16, 2007 1:02 amA limousine is probably the perfect choice of transportation for a wedding. Although requesting for a limo rental service means that you’ll be paying a little more extra for transportation compared to other options, you have to remember that you’re paying for comfort and luxury, and you deserve both of these on your wedding day.
But before you go and get one for your wedding, there are some things to consider and ask when requesting for one. First of all, you need to consider how many cars you will need for the wedding.
Common practice is that before the wedding, the bride and the bridesmaids are picked up and transported to the wedding place before they get dressed for the events. The best man, on the other hand is responsible for bringing the groom to the place. Also, all other relatives and guests need to be covered for transportation as well. After the wedding, the bride and groom ride out together to the reception of the wedding. The groom’s men are responsible for transporting the bride’s maids to the reception.
After the reception, transportation is also needed to bring the couple home, or wherever they wish to spend their wedding night. Whether one car or more is required to accomplish all of this, the first thing to consider is the minimum time that service companies impose.
Preparing a limousine for service takes a few hours itself so this is quite understandable. Commonly, the minimum time for a limo service is 3 hours. 3 hours is probably long enough for the wedding itself, but then who wants to rush on a wedding day? After all, everything has to be perfect but for practicality’s sake, you should check if it costs more to extend one car or request another one after the reception. It is important to check the vehicles before hand and ask for guarantees on service. Lastly of course, you have to ask about all the charges imposed and request for a copy of the estimate.

- Orchestrate – The planner typically leads everyone through the wedding procession, telling the band when to play, the bridesmaids when to walk and so on.

How to Hire a Wedding Planner
10:45 amUnless your venue provides a consultant, you’ll need to do some research. Ask around: Newly married friends are a good resource, as are caterers and florists. For additional leads, check out the experts quoted in wedding publications, or contact organizations such as the Association of Bridal Consultants (860/355-0464) or June Wedding (707/865-9894) for a member list. But Remember: These planner are not always prescreened, so y ou will still need to interview them yourself.
Get the Scoop
Plan to interview at least three wedding consultants. Your planner’s personality is, of course, important (you’ll be speaking to her a lot), but so are her answers to these questions: How many weddings have you organized? (You want to hear lo or more.) How busy will you be around my wedding? (She should not be contracted for another wedding on the same day.) Will you provide a written timetable and regular updates? Will you attend my wedding and coordinate onsite? (Find out whether another member of her staff may do this instead.) Will you, handle all of the negotiations with vendors?
Once you have a good idea as to the consultant you’d like to hire, look into her references. Call prior customers to hear about their experiences. Did the planner take care of everything they’d asked her to? Was she accessible and pleasant? Did she present fresh ideas? And did she stick to the budget?
A wedding planner, coordinator or consultant can ease the pressure of throwing a reception-particularly if it’s a large party, or one held far from where you live. Full consulting services can consume 15% of your budget, but some planners can actually help cut costs through savvy vendor negotiations. All should be able to ensure you get the most value for your money.

Consider a Part-time Planner
To get an expert’s help at a fraction of the cost, you might hire a consultant for a single brainstorming session in the beginning and to help coordinate on the day of the wedding. This way you get the benefit of her know-how, though you’ll be doing the planning legwork yourself (meeting and negotiating with vendors, organizing schedules and so on). Just make sure you’re both clear on the exact services she will provide, so nothing gets left out.
Seal the Deal
In the contract, list each of your consultant’s duties and deadlines, as well as what her responsibilities will be at the event itself. The contract should also list payment and cancellation policies, the name of her emergency substitute, and contact information for her and eve3ryone on her team

Last Minute Wedding Planning Secrets
October 1, 2007 8:27 pmInstead of the standard menu-appetizer, entree, you can serve multiple small plates, the way a tasting menu is done at a restaurant. It’s unexpected, so it builds excitement for the party. And since you’re serving more dishes this way, it’s easy to incorporate your taste and his.
One of our signatures is a trendy version of the traditional beef Wellington: seared tuna in a puff pastry, with a rich red-wine sauce. For dessert, you can dress up something that was significant in your childhood like Ring Dings and Twinkies.
What about drinks?
Granite cocktails! They’re icy, frozen versions of sangria, cosmopolitans or lemon drops just like a slushy. You can serve them in highballs or martini glasses. A bonus: Since they’re pretty thick, they don’t easily spill.
If there’s an expensive item you really want to include, such as sushi or caviar, have it passed during the cocktail hour instead of serving it as a menu course or at a station. Passing trays of sushi or caviar-topped toast points gives your wedding a luxe feel, but the controlled quantity will end up costing you less.
Any other cost-cuffing ideas?
Consider a Thursday night wedding, especially in the summer. It’s a great party night-we’re seeing more and more couples interested in it-and vendors tend to offer reduced prices then.
Get as many photos with guests as possible; everyone loves to have their picture taken with the bride and groom. It’s a nice alternative to the receiving line-you can say hello and connect with everyone. Just be sure to ask your photographer in advance to take these candids.
