Tie the Cans to the Right Limo: New York Wedding Limousine

Nothing says “big day” quite like a Long Island Wedding limo. Whether you’re talking the classic black stretch Caddillac Escalade limo or a romp ’em, stomp ’em stretch Hummer H2 limousine, the mere sight of the vehicle leaves an impression on everyone who sees it. Something fun, something great, is going down. It’s no wonder then that limos are always seem to be part of a wedding.

What people don’t know, though, is also the amount of something called research and something called planning that go into lining up these special rides for such an occasion. Not to scare you away from renting a limo for your wedding—that’s the last thing we want to do! Our goal is the exact opposite. We want to help you make that research and planning easy, so you can ensure that you will get the perfect limo for that big day.

When securing a limo, you want to ask three main questions. These will help you to narrow down your choices for what kind of limo you want – limousine fleet. Later, we’ll deal with choosing the right limo company, but first, you can’t go to the store until you know what you’re shopping for.

Step number one, of course, is to figure out exactly when should you start this planning and research. Most experts will tell you to begin thinking limo within six to nine months of your wedding date. Cutting it any closer could severely limit your selection of vehicles, and leave you with a risky lineup of rental companies. On the other hand, don’t play it too safe by calling more than a year before your wedding. Some places may not even take your call.

Once you have the timing down, your next question should focus on price: what are you looking to pay? A typical wedding limo rental rates could cost you on average $200 to $400 for three hours, depending on your location. Fancier types, your antique roadsters, Hummers, Expeditions, and the like, could run you into the quadruple digits. On top of it all, expect to tip your chauffeur between 15 and 20 percent of the total at the end of the night. We’re talking cash tip, people.

We know what you’re thinking. You can’t cut corners on your flowers or your band, so why not save money on the limo by renting it for a quick hour. Not going to happen. Read back to where we said “three hours.” That’s because most companies require at least three hours of renting as a minimum to cover pick-up, drop-off, and all the time spent traveling in between. You will also pay for the limo to wait for you at the ceremony, after the reception, etc.

It may sound like you’re paying half the time for the limo driver to listen the radio, but think of it more like paying for peace of mind. Weddings rarely go off without a glitch. One of the bridesmaids loses her bouquet, the groom’s mother disappears, the receiving line backs up. You name it, it can happen! So you’ll want to request that limo for more time than you actually think you’ll need: at least an extra hour. On top of that, figure another extra half-hour to organize photos, and another half-hour added on per every 100 people in your receiving line. You stress about everything else during your wedding; don’t add another worry with your limo.

As for that last main question—what size limo should you get?—that also gets back to the first two questions, and your budget and tastes. The key is balancing both, and making sure that in the end, the groomsmen won’t have to be balancing the bridesmaids on their knees in the back of the not-so-stretch limo. In other words, no matter what type of limo you opt for, go with one that’s larger than you think you need. Why? Typically, limo sizes go on the assumption that every person weighs 150 pounds. Though many females will be under that limit, it won’t take too many American males to tip the scales toward crowded, hot, and sweaty. So never imagine, for example, you’ll be able to fit 10 people in a 10-person limo.

With these three questions answered, you are well on your way to planning and researching your wedding limo. Now on to part two, narrowing down your selection of limo-renting companies.

New 2008 Audi Q7 Limousine Build process

About a month ago, we decided to build something different, something that nobody has it yet, something that has not been tried yet. We came to the conclusion to build something out of the ordinary – An AUDI Q7 Limousine. We did some research and came to the conclusion that nobody attempted to build this car yet. Nobody knows this car yet. Its a first release for Audi in the SUV market. This car has so much grace and style. We thought about building a Porsche Cayenne limousine but one problem with a Porsche limo – small door in the back and we feel that most wedding brides would have problems getting into the car with big dresses. Door in the Audi limo is pretty big and it opens really wide making it really easy to get into/and out of the vehicle.

Looking at styling of this car we thought lets try it. Nobody has this car stretched yet anywhere in the world. This would be a first attempt to build a limo out of this world. Eventhough not too many people know the name AUDI but we our style is to have limos that are different, out of the ordinary, VIP vehicles. Eventhough we could have build a Mercedes limo, we said not yet. Lets try Audi Q7.

Here is the begging of the build process. What a shame to cut such a nice looking $55,000 car. Only at http://www.royaluxury.com

Ferrari Limousine – like nothing you have seen before

We were just browsing a YouTube directory when we came across a video file of a Stretched Ferrari Limousine. Its black and its 12 cylinder engine. Its a total powerhouse exotic limousine. Check it out. Who knows, we may just get one of these one day if our boss feels like he has too much money to spend.

• The world’s fastest limousine can go from 0 to 60mph in less than six seconds

• It is made from a Ferrari 360 Modena chopped in half and stretched by 9.5ft with a section of hand-built carbon fibre

• It has a top speed of around 166mph – just 17mph less than the standard 183mph Modena

• The 20ft long car – which only seats eight people – is set to claim two Guinness World Records as the fastest limousine and the longest Ferrari.

The total cost of the project is thought to be around £200,000.

Dan, 37, who runs Style Limousines in Cheadle, Manchester, said his creation was a “supercar for the masses”.

He said: “Everyone always dreams about riding in a real Ferrari but very few people ever get the chance – but now they can, and bring friends along too.

You won’t find a mini-bar on here because it isn’t that sort of limousine. It’s about tasting a real driving experience, not just cruising past night clubs on Saturday night. In terms of performance it hardly feels any different from the original car on the road – you have to remind yourself how long it actually is when your going into a corner. And you can’t beat the look on people’s faces when you overtake them on the motorway, and the car just keeps on coming past.” Dan and Chris decided to challenge the opinion of American Exotic Limousines builders that a stretch Ferrari was impossible to build because traditional conversions use steel beams, which would make it too heavy. After consulting Ferrari engineers and drawing up detailed plans for a hi-tech carbon fibre conversion, a suitable donor car was found in January.

A £130,000 black 360 Modena with an F1 ‘paddle’ gear box – where shift levers are mounted behind the steering wheel – was bought second-hand for £55,000.

The left-hand-drive ’04 model, which had only covered 30,000 miles, was then delicately cut in half. Over the next eight months the carbon panels were designed and built. Like the original car, the V8 engine is still visible through the rear glass window. Extra crash protection bars and carbon roll over hoops have been installed for safety.

The brakes and gear box are all standard but the suspension has been uprated to cope with the added weight and to automatically raise the body while tackling speed bumps. Between each pair of seats is a 10-inch flat screen monitor which relays images from cameras mounted on the outside of the vehicle. A six speaker surround sound system and slimline DVD have also been built in. Surprisingly, the car returns an average of 15mpg on the motorway and costs only £1,800 a year to comprehensively insure for passenger carrying duties.
